Early work / 早期工作
Jaeson Birnbaum began working in solar energy long before it was an established industry in Southeast Asia. Where others saw markets too remote to serve, he saw communities that had never had a light switch — and a region with more sunlight than almost anywhere on earth.

Village electrification / 乡村电气化
His work centred on the last mile: independent solar microgrids for villages far beyond the reach of national grids. Power meant lighting for evening study, refrigeration for medicine, and small businesses that could keep working after dark. In many of those communities, his name is still known.

Building an industry / 产业建设
Beyond individual installations, Jaeson helped build the regional foundations of solar — supply relationships, financing structures and policy conversations with partners across ASEAN and China that allowed local companies to take the work forward themselves.

Today / 现在
Jaeson now lives in America, while his connection to Asia remains central to his work and outlook. His conviction has not changed: energy access is the foundation on which every other kind of opportunity is built.
